There is usually peace and a great calm after a storm. The great thing is that God is our Peace, and so we can be at peace even in the midst of a storm because God is always with us.
The Prince of Peace was at peace
In Mark 4:38 – 40 there is an account of Jesus sleeping at the lower part of the boat when there was a great storm.
His disciples wondered how He could be asleep when there was such a boisterous storm, and woke Him up to help them. Jesus then rose up and commanded the wind and the waves to be still and they obeyed Him.
Be at Peace
Just like Jesus, I would like to encourage you to be at peace in the midst of the COVID-19 storm.
Try not to focus too much on the news, the stories of doom, or the conspiracy theories flying around. Instead turn your focus to Jesus in prayer, give Him your worries and be at peace.
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalms 55:2 NIV
During a storm, panicking does not help anybody. However remaining calm in the midst of a storm can help you survive. This is because being calm and relaxed could help you think of things that can help you cope with the storm better, and steady your ship (your life).
Jesus is the Prince of Peace and He can help us to remain calm and be at peace, if only we would trust that He has everything under control.
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3 ESV
Ask the Storm to Cease
Just like the disciples in Mark 4: 38, I would like to encourage you to call upon the Prince of Peace to calm the raging storm that is COVID-19, and Jesus will calm the storm.
In fact, on the authority of Jesus, you can actually ask the storm to cease as well, and it will cease.
Therefore, today let your slogan be Peace! Be Still!
The LORD will fight for you, and all you have to do is keep still.” Exodus 14:14 GNT
