God is Our Defence in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beware of the Claims

There have been different theories about COVID-19.

Some people think children and young people have a good resistance against it. Others think that people can become resistant to the virus after catching it.

It seems apparent that most people in generally good health will have a good mechanism to fight against it.

There are also loads of videos flying around on how to protect yourself from the virus, or remedies to help you recover if you become infected.

I would like to encourage us to be careful of the content we consume, act upon, and share on social media, as we may be inviting and spreading unnecessary fear, or even endanger ourselves and others.

It is vital that we only heed advice from reliable sources like the Government, Health Services, WHO and perhaps official news websites, like the BBC.

Trust in God – the best defence mechanism

Do not entertain fear in your heart, but instead be mindful of the fact that God is the best defence mechanism against the Corona Virus and any other diseases we may become exposed to.

Moreover if the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, the one who raised Christ from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through his Spirit who lives in you. Romans 8:11 NET.

Try not to worry about how we can be safe from the Corona Virus, but instead continue to follow the official advice for curbing the spread of the virus. Stay at Home as much as possible, limit your travel and contact with people outside your home, wash your hands regularly, practice social (not emotional) distancing, practice good hygiene, etc.

Above all, try to keep your spirits up, and continue to pray to and put your trust in God our Defender. He has the power to keep us immune and safe from the Corona Virus.

When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them. Isaiah 19:20b
