God is one friend that will always be consistent and never change. He is our Constant Friend in the midst of the storm.

I recently watched a movie called Apple Mortgage Cake. It was based on the true story of a woman called Angela Logan, who had baked her way out of financial troubles using her grandmother’s Apple Cake recipe.

What struck me the most about Angela Logan was that even though she was so kind she would go above and beyond to help people, she was vehemently stubborn in refusing help from her family and friends.

Towards the end of the movie, Angela was neck deep in orders with no clue as to how she was going to deliver hundreds of cakes. In her frustration, she prayed to God asking Him to help her as she acknowledged she “could not do this on her own”.

She later woke up to find that her friends and family had figured out a way to help her. The doors that became open to her and the favour she received were simply mind-blowing.

Her best friend said she had decided to come and help her regardless. She knew Angela was never going to ask for help, even though she desperately needed all the help she could get.

God never leaves us even when we ignore Him

Angela Logan’s friends in the movie reminded me of God. Sometimes God tries to help us but we push Him away because we think we can figure things out on our own without His help.

However, just like Angela’s friends, God is not petty and never leaves us alone. He always finds a way to help us and come through for us in our most difficult times. God is our Constant Friend!

My prayer today is that you would remember that God is our Constant Friend. He is not going anywhere.

He will always be there for us and help us figure out how to navigate our current and future challenges.

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother – Proverbs 18:24 KJV
