An Outro to the “God in the Midst of the Storm” Series.

I hope you have enjoyed learning about God, Our Everything over the course of the “God in the midst of the storm” series.

I wrote about 30 attributes of God that came to mind as the world experienced a storm.

However, the 30 attributes I wrote about are just a tiny little glimpse into what God is to us in all His splendour. 

Who can measure the wealth and wisdom and knowledge of God? Who can understand his decisions or explain what he does? Romans 11:33 CEV

God is Love

I think the greatest quality of God is Love. He is actually Love personified.

And if we receive His love by faith, He promises that we will go on living as our souls will find eternal rest with Him.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 1 John 4: 8 – 9 ESV

In fact, God loves us so much that He came to the world as a Human – Jesus  Christ – and laid down His life for us as a continual and permanent atonement for our sins.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

He existed in the beginning with God.

God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him…

…He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him… 

…So the Word (God) became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son…

…No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us. John 1 : 1 – 18 NLT (parenthesis mine).

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (the Word), that whoever believes in Him (the Word) should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 NKJV (parentheses mine).

There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. John 15:13 NLT

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13 NLT

Keep learning about God

I am pretty sure if we all had to write about the things God is, and has been to us at different points in our lives, we would come up with thousands upon thousands of His attributes.

Today, I would like to challenge you to learn more about God through your personal reflection of what He has been in your life, and in the lives of others. 

However, the best way to learn more about God is by studying the Bible which is a collection of stories and thoughts written long ago by some people in history as inspired by God.
