God is our Sufficiency in the midst of a storm.

Gathering…

Just before the official UK lock-down, I decided to try ordering some groceries online. When I checked available delivery slots, it turned out I would have had to wait three week for my delivery. This was probably a result of all the panic shopping as a result of the Corona Virus outbreak.

I actually watched a ridiculous video of a family who had stockpiled so much that some of the things (e.g. Vegetable Oil) were likely to last them for years regardless of how large their family is.

After two weeks of being stuck indoors, I did manage to go shopping for some groceries. Even though I was unable to get some of the things I needed, I was grateful to find some of the things I bought as it did make a lot of difference.

God will keep us content

In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, I would like to remind us that God is our Sufficiency.

At this challenging time, we may not be able to enjoy the things we usually enjoyed or took for granted, but it is important to remember that God is the one who will keep us satisfied and content in this season.

not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; 2 Corinthians 3:5 WEB

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19 NLT

Because God makes things sufficient for us, we can actually continue to bless others.

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
