As we move forward in the battle against COVID-19, God is the one who will grant us the wisdom on how to continue to preserve our existence and rebuild our lives.
But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding. Job 32:8 KJV
Several weeks ago, I watched a WhatsApp video of a man who I believed to be a medical professional from China. In the video, the man was admonishing people to abide by the Government’s advice to self-isolate in order to help curtail the spread of COVID-19.
The WhatsApp video also provided an insight into how the number of people infected with the Corona Virus in China multiplied in a short time. It showed that the numbers of infected people grew exponentially as a result of the compounding effect of infections occurring as people got exposed to one infected person.
The video also indicated that the Chinese Government decided that the only way to contain the virus was to lock things down completely and ensure that everyone went into isolation.
God is the source of all wisdom
The video reminded me that God is the source of all wisdom.
I firmly believe that it was by God’s wisdom inherent in man, that the Chinese authorities came up with the idea of social distancing and self-isolation to help curtail the spread of Corona Virus.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1: 5 NIV
Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Proverbs 4:7 NKJV
In the midst of the current global crisis, I pray that we will remember that God is the source of all wisdom, and that we would trust Him to guide and instruct us in all things.
As we continue to navigate the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and look forward to our new lives post COVID-19, I pray that we would find the courage to trust God to show us the best way to live our lives going forward.
I also pray that we would put aside our pride and old ways of doing things, and receive God’s wisdom and direction as we continue our journeys through life, and embrace our new “normal”.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; Proverbs 3:5 NIV.
You will hear a word spoken behind you, saying, “This is the correct way, walk in it,” whether you are heading to the right or the left. Isaiah 30:21 NET

God, the Source of our wisdom. Thank you Ufuoma. I remember reading a devotional by Nicky and Pippa Gumbel. Nicky said that “wisdom is the ‘art of steering’ through the battles and blessings of life, and living skilfully in whatever conditions we find ourselves.” As we continue to reverence God, and live in honour of His Word, we grow in wisdom. Knowledge is awareness, and wisdom acts upon knowledge. Understanding is realising our choices and what we know. This is really needed at this time, thank you.
Hmmmmmm…
We have to “Live skillfully” in whatever conditions we find ourselves as we steer through the battles AND blessings of life… I will need some time to digest this one. I pray God to give me understanding.
I like what you said about honoring God’s word being the highway to wisdom.
So as we reverence God and honor His word – we become wiser. Alleluia!
That means he that does not obey God’s word (instructions) is not wise…
Thank you so much for these insights Sis!
God bless you!
